I though the Wii U was going to be able to use old headsets from before it launched. Apparently, the only way to voice chat in games (like Blops Deuce) is to plug your headset into the gamepad. Of course, both my headsets are usb headsets. One of them even says it will work on WiiU and I got it since it's suppose to work for all consoles. It does, but without voice chat. If I want to chat I have to loose game sound and vice versa.

Does anyone know if there is a setting I need to change to get my usb headsets working or is there no support for voice chat via usb yet?

I find this whole thing strange, seeing as the only headset for Wii was a usb headset. Even stranger is the fact that Iphone headset work and the official Wii headset doesn't.

the thing what i find very funny is, the pad has mic and speakers and take headphones.

Why the fuck do you have to go and buy a headset to talk to ppl (why cant u use yr smart phone head fones etc)
Plus why cant voice chat come thru the pad, they should allow u the option.

Whadya think?

I was upset too, I thought the game pad would allow for full headsets or phone setups, but its only allowing for headsets then the mic on the game pad, which would have a lot more background noise and could be distracting like the wiispeak was. I was also hoping for USB bluetooth headsets to be used.

Actually, you can in fact use a set of iPhone headfones (or your android ones) that have a mic on them (Handsfree) for games like COD:BLOPS2 :Confirmed:
