Is there a tool that can rename the internal header name of a rom, besides a hex editor? I really hate how GBA rom names are displayed in the G6 Lite.

So I'm looking for an app that you just drag and drop the rom into, then you just rename the header and that's it. Is there anything like that that exists? I'm not having any luck in finding one.

Thanks for any help.

u mean the second name of the rom in the g6manager?
or what else?
when i rename the rom both (file name and real name in the manager) are the same of the file's name.
if u mean something else i don't know...

No, I'm talking about how the name of the rom shows up in the G6's menu. You're talking about how it appears in the G6 Manager.

For example: Kirby and the Amazing Mirror, shows up in the G6's menu as AGB KIRBY DXA7KE. It doesn't show up as Kirby and the Amazing Mirror. All the roms are like this since the cart displays the rom header name.

So I was wondering if there was an app to rename the header name.

in the g6 menu i see the file name and not te serial
i have the normal g6 slot-2
maybe for lite is different?
(if i understood u r talking about the g6 menu in the ds the one where u choose the game to play, right?)

Ah...you don't have a G6 Lite? You have an older G6, right?

Maybe the older one displays the name you give the rom in the G6 menu(where it shows on the DS). I don't know why they would have changed it to show the header name for the G6 Lite.

i dont believe there is a difference between G6 Lite and G6 Slot-2.
BTW, mine shows the file names, just in GBA mode it shows their header names.(which i donno how to rename)

Ooops, I forgot to mention that it's the GBA menu I'm talking about. DS games display properly, but GBA games show the header name.

Was just hoping someone knew a way around this.

Sweet! Thank you for posting that page test.

The Flash Advance Toolkit renames the header for you. I just tried it out with a rom, and it worked perfectly.

So now the GBA rom name shows up as I want it to on the G6's menu.

Now the G6 team has to redo the GBA menu. Make it more like the EZIV's menu.

Thanks again.

yeah, but note that still the order of displaying GBA roms are from their actual file names, not their headers. (if u want have them sorted or something).

Yeah, actually I just made icons for all the GBA games that didn't have one, and now I have no gripes with the GBA menu.

I still wish they would redo the whole thing to make it look more like the EZIV GBA menu, but I"m sure they'll never get off their asses to do that.
