When i turned my wii u on and got to the menu it told me to not disconnect any devices while the console is on, when restarting the console it wouldn't show any of my games installed on my hdd and it would say the same message after a sec, the hdd worked perfectly fine and i never even moved it, so i have no idea what happened to it

I have noticed such Behavior last Week.
This SABRENT Case
is used for the Wii U HDD with an Y-Cable and it is always connected and the Power Switch is always "ON".
Everytime the Wii U is booting into the System Menu, the HDD is recognized and ready.

Last Week I had the near the same Issue like you and the LED on the Case flashes,so I unplugged the HDD,booted the Wii U without HDD one Time.
Next Boot up Time I connected it again (before of Course) and turned it on when I am on the Wii U Menu.
Since then it is working correctly again.

Maybe a Case Controller "Issue"......this happens sometimes. But everytime an Eye on it,a HDD can also fail quickly...

Thank you.:)

Too much content... Tickets can cause some problems. Had this happen but got to point just replaced HDD and deleted all Tickets and Titles and Reinstalled Everything.

Sorted however previous HDD still works so possible overloaded Fragmented or Corruption.

I recommend you dont overload 300 Title Limit and use Loadiine - USBLoaderGX - Nintendont and Exclusive WiiU Titles and those with Exclusive WiiU Features.

Loadiine = N64 and NDS Virtual Console.
RetroArch Everything else or Wii Emulators OverClocked via C2W Patch.

I've had weird moments with a sabrent enclosure for my virtual wii. I only use it, since it has a toggle switch, and I know that keeping the vwii hdd plugged in if it's powered can be bad for the hdd. anyway, when I loaded up dkc returns, the activity light stopped for about three seconds, then started again, so it seemingly black screened after the wii remote screen. it worked normally after that. the next time I played the game, it didn't happen.

I've had sabrent enclosures cause hdd failures, so the only reason I used one again was due to the fact that I didn't want to replace cables and search for wherever the power cable is plugged into. I usually play two virtual wii games, but I also have them as vc injects on the wii u hdd. I sometimes play the virtual wii itself to keep the hdd alive, because in my experience, an hdd might die if it's not used (at least in a sabrent enclosure).

@alexander1970 , I'm playing dkc returns again via usb loader gx. it booted up instantly (not even a second). I think my hdds might hate the game, because it randomly does what I mentioned above with this game only. sometimes I turn on vania, valis 2, arc rise fantasia (very underated game), skyward sword, or nsmb wii, and none of them do that. it's kinda weird, but they're all sabrent enclosures though.
