Hacking HDD on a GameCube

Wouldn't it be possible to make the Wii believe an HDD is an SD Card by wiring together the rights SD and USB pins ?

EDIT : wrong title, I meant HDD on a Wii... Please mods edit the title please

Maybe, but the maximum capacity would most likely be 4 gig, as that's what's the maximum capacity is on SD cards. So kinda useless.

Kinda like on the 360. You can switch the HDD, but the 360's gonna lock it at 20 gigs.
 
Well you could always set up a banking method, it would really be nothing more than a glorified CD multichanger though and you would need some devices in the middle.
