Hello Guys,

We played fot a few years with our softmodded WII.
About a year ago we had,out of the blue, a problem with CIOS loading. I reinstaled the USBloader and the problem was fixed.... Till a week ago..

The WII doesn´t load the HDD. Whes i start USBloader.. the screen stays black.

So i tried to update, following this tread: //gbatemp.net/posts/6478222 (no link because i´m a newbee)
When i try to use the installer, i get the message that 1 failed and nothing has changed.

Please can you help me out? The WII is a great help to get through the quarantee with the kid ;-)

Thnx in advance..

Hello,

To update your hack, use Modmii from xflak ==>https://gbatemp.net/threads/modmii-for-windows-official-support-topic.207126/

Use your wii's syscheck report and with Modmii, it will tell you what is missing, and what to update.
It will update your IOS and CIOS, if they are not.

What is the format of your hard drive ??

hard drive connect to port 0 of the wii ??

Prefer an external hard drive format in FAT 32.

Hello.:)

I formatted my External HDD with WBFS manager. I also jused this manager to put games on my HDD

Maybe yo have not read about hte WBFS Manager, but unfortunately there are some Issues with it:

WBFS (Wii Backup File System) is a very simple file system that can only save Wii images on a single directory level. WBFS was explicitly developed by Kwiirk and Waninkoko in early 2009 for the use of USB loaders and initially only used as a partition (similar to a FAT, NTFS or ext234 partition). The developers provided the access and administration functions as a C source code library LIBWBFS under the GPL2 license, so that third parties could quickly develop their own USB loader and WBFS manager based on this library. The WBFS managers are required because no operating system can handle WBFS partitions.

When Wiimm began developing his WBFS manager wwt (merged into Wiimms ISO Tools) for Linux at the end of 2009, he changed the LIBWBFS minimally so that WBFS files could also be managed on other file systems. It was Oggzee, the developer of the CFG loader, who discovered this type of WBFS file for his USB loader months later. He then adopted Wiimm's name "TITLE [ID6] .wbfs" and introduced the splitting of WBFS files that are larger than 4 GiB. In the meantime, all current USB loaders and WBFS managers can handle WBFS files.

During the development of his tools and a consistent code review by LIBWBFS, Wiimm discovered around a dozen programming errors in LIBWBFS, 3 of which were so serious that they could render the entire WBFS archive unusable. The error corrections were published and discussed on GBAtemp. Since these errors were discovered by mid-2010, it can be assumed that all loaders and tools that are older can definitely handle WBFS incorrectly and destroy content. The popular WBFS Manager 3.0, which was released in April 2009, belongs to this category, so its use is not recommended.

So the only really useful Tool is the WiiBackup Manager.:)
Please use only this Tool to transfer your Games from the PC to the HDD.

And maybe is is "better" to format your HDD with FAT32 if you also want to use GameCube Games.:)

Thank you.:)
