Hacking HBG Shop problem

I dont see the benefit of using the "Shops"

Convenience of downloading/installing games directly from the Switch, convenience of auto-scanning for relevant updates/DLC and downloading and installing them directly from the Switch, etc.

True but having the hard copy of the NSP files are always handy if your SD card dies out. (Rarely happens but it is a possiblilty)

Is there a way to download from the shops and keep the nsp file on your sd card so you could use as a back up

I agree, but one could also make an SD backup.

You can dump the NSP after it's installed.
