Hi. I am new to the forum and have found it really useful in helping to install cfw for my wii u.

I have successfully installed haxchi and also tried the loadiine web exploit but haxchi seems the better option for me personally.

My question is:

Once I have loaded haxchi can I load backups straight away or do I need to run mocha also?

I have modified the haxchi configuration.txt file so that as soon as haxchi has loaded the wii u will boot into mocha.. Shown below:

a=wiiu/apps/homebrew_launcher/homebrew_launcher.elf b=wiiu/apps/wupinstaller/wupinstaller.elf default=wiiu/apps/mocha/mocha.elf

Think I maybe doing I step I don't need and can just go back to the orig config text as downloaded with haxchi.

I'm just making sure I have done things right and don't want to risk bricking.

Thanks for your help

Using Haxchi to boot Mocha is kind of silly. Mocha is more for people who don't have Haxchi or if you have a specific need for Mocha. Haxchi's CFW is more than enough to play backups that require CFW. Change the config.txt file to read:
default=sysmenu
and then reinstall Haxchi. Now when you launch Haxchi, you will be in CFW. No more need for Mocha unless you are trying to utilize one of its features like built in WUPServer or something.

Can I just reinstall haxchi over the old version or do I need to delete my virtual console game and then reinstall?

Im doing the same thing. Haxchi is installed over a ds game, but not configured to autoboot on my wii u. Ive been going into homebrew launcher, loading mocha, then loading backups. Am i doing it wrong?

If haxchi is installed on a legit bought eshop ds game you just need to boot that zero need to run mocha first. Running both you are basically running a cfw to boot another cfw which is pointless.

So, just go into homebrew launcher, exit and load backup on the wii u home menu?
Launching HBL via Haxchi does not enter you into a cfw by itself. Read my reply above, you need it to boot into sysmenu either by default or by holding a specific button while booting.

You can always verify if you are in Haxchi CFW by going into settings, your system version will be 99.99.99 if you are in Haxchi CFW. If it says 5.5.1 then your aren't in Haxchi CFW.

I must have done something wrong on mine. I only see the homebrew launcher on my wii u menu at startup...

If you didn't change the config.txt file when you installed Haxch then you can boot into CFW by holding down the 'b' button when launching Haxchi. It will kick you right back to the system menu, you are now in cfw. Verify as described above. Or edit the config file to your liking and reinstall Haxchi.
