Homebrew Having trouble installing the homebrew channel

I've been trying for hours to softmod my Wii using LetterBomb, everything was alright until the scam screen alert. The wii.guide says I should wait 30 seconds but the message "press 1 to proceed" shows up after 5 seconds, and when I try to press 1 it doesn't do anything, it just freezes. So im forced to turn my wii off. Can anyone help me out ?

Are you using a normal Wiimote? This means not the built-in Plus version.
Also try a 2GB SD Card to softmod the Wii.

Exactly what thekarter104 said, you need a 1 or 2 gb sd to install the homebrew channel.

im using a 2GB SD card, not SDHC. And I was trying to do it with a regular wiimote, not a wii motion plus thingy, didnt work.

what does the root of your sd look like?

also, you might want to format the sd if you didn't to begin with

Is your console updated and your IOS 58 a clean, unpatched version?

if you have the wiii browser installed you dont need bannerbomb you know in fact no sd at all druuing the installation (unless you want bootmii and thats is nessasery) just use flashhax if you can if not try redownloading the exploit from please.hackmii.net (be sure to have your mac address tho).

it turns out, all I had to do was update my wii and I managed to get past the scam screen. Anyway thank you all for answering !

was it 4.2 beuse there was another version of bannerbomb for that but it uses a program insted of a webpage (what was that version caled?)

No I was on 4.3, but the disc channel told me to update for some reason so I updated, and then it worked. I think there were some IOSs missing or something. Anyway thanks for helping me !
