ROM Hack having issues with NTR plugin

sometimes it works great (mario kart 7)

sometimes it doesn't show up at all (star fox 3d)

and sometimes.... it shows up and doesn't really do anything it says (majoras mask, smash bros 3ds)

how do I use this properly? how does NTR work right?

Well, first you make sure it loads, this is easy, if a green screen appears when booting the game, it loaded, if it doesn't, there is something wrong with your setup. Secondly, some cheats need a button combination to be activated, there is a way to see which one is needed (I think by pressing Y while selecting the cheat shows you what combo it is.)
