Misc Haunter to Gengar

I need to trade my Haunter so that he can evolve...

If someone is gentle enought PM ASAP so we can switch FC's and the haunter...

Can't you just put it in the GTS, exit it, and then take it back out?
It worked for me in D/P, not sure for HG/SS.

I think the GTS glitch is still in HG/SS.
But it's a little more complicated than NDStemp describes it.
From NeonOctopus at GameFAQs:

1. Put a pokemon that evolves by trade up for auction with impossible offers (charmeleon at lvl 9)
2. Find an easy trade (bellsprout for a drowsee or something) and trade
3. Withdraw offered pokemon
4. ???
5. PROFIT (aka evolved pokemon)
