Yes but how do they permanently link that particular switch to an account? If someone already registered the switch to their discord, you won't be able to unlink it or register it to a different discord account.
That means that they have a way of tracking your console so that it isn't registered with two accounts at once. People have purchased used consoles that are already "banned" from tinfoil shops and they have no way of unlinking the console.
