oh, i forgot to mention

dont bother playing ffxi on pc without a usb psx controller adapter and a psx controller

You could try EVE Online. I used to play it for a bit, it's pretty expansive. You can do just about whatezZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZzZz!

You won't find a replacement for WoW, just move on and enjoy the fact that you can now experience other games, unlike when you were playing WoW (and only WoW).

I played the closed beta of Tabula Rasa for the first time last night (even though the beta ends on Sunday) and it was fantastic. If you like more sci-fi MMO's then Tabula Rasa looks like it is going to blow away everything else.

diablo2 is the best MMORPG-like game I've played. I don't really like all the time spent griding in WoW and games like that..so boring. Hopefully diablo 3 gets announced soon, I'm sure blizzard are working on it.

I quit about a 2 months ago due to all my ingame friends quitting, I'd advise trying out some non-mmo online game like jump ultimate stars or some kind of shooter like soldat. Also, RL is a good alternative

Oh I miss the days of WoW. It literally took over my life for a while, played it nearly every day during the summer. Was fun, but WAY too addicting for me.

I quit playing at the beginning of this year just after TBC was released. Nothing has came close so far, even Warhammer that I beta tested for a couple of weeks before getting bored. It's the sheer attention to detail that sets WoW apart.

Okay, so I've never played any of these games but I do want to know... What is this grinding everyone's talking about?

QUOTEÂ

A repetitive task usually involved in a Massively Multiplayer Online Role playing game (MMORPG) where a character's skill's are based entirely on killing monsters to gain strengths or levels. In most MMORPGs, there is no skill from the player involved, so anyone who plays 20 hours a day of grinding will be stronger than a player who does not. MMORPGs become a game genre filled with those who are too slow to play First-Person Shooters (FPS) or too dumb to play Real Time Strategy (RTS) but want to brag and be 1337 g4m3r so they play 20 hours a day and boast to "n00bs"

me_is_n00b: Johnny, what level are you?

Grinding_Johnny210: I'm level 250+

me_is_noob: wow you are so uber 1337! You must be so good at this!

Grinding_Johnny210: Yea, it's pure skill.

me_is_noob: I wish i could grind like you, unfortunately, I have a life, a job, a car, a girlfriend..

Grinding_Johnny210: You suck n00b!

I've quitted the oficial wow servers... after almost 2 years of playing, now i play once in a while in a private server. And to be honest i'm having more fun in it then on oficial servers, with all custom items and instances and such.

Thank you The Last Spartan

I might try WoW one time or another, just to know what all the fuss is about.
I have run into people EVERYWHERE who played WoW.

I stop playing about 4months ago after getting my lock to full Tier 4 and most the PvP gear. I was just sick of grinding and after the word got out about the Lich King, decided to give up completely in fear of even more grinding. I know that Conan and WAR are in the near future, but I long for the immersion I only found in World of Warcraft.

So has anyone ever found a game that lived upto the first few months of WoW before the grind became apparent? :'(

By the way, I'm not sure the topic belongs here, but it isn't really another console which is maybe the only other appropriate section.
Nope just private servers(Just play on big servers about 2000/3000 people online at the time)
All those games doesn't use that way of painting its so amazing looking
Oh maybe Lord of the rings online is a good one but it cost as much as wow so you'd rather play wow then

Just from the screens Tabula Rasa looks interesting, I'm going to look into it!

Private servers suck for PvP, nothing works like it's meant to, take the Felguard for instance, hits for 100 at level 70, or HoKs on a druid that's goes back into cat form, they just disappear!? I do still play LAN with my nephew on my own Mangos sometimes.

Sorry to hear that, it looked set to take Blizzards customers!

It's been hyped up a lot. Blizz will lose some customers for sure but it won't be much of a dent against 9 million. Especially considering the new customers they'll gain with the release of Wrath of the Lich King.

Hellgate:London Looks Intresting + its got to options Free and Pay Monthly which extra items and such you should check it out

Of course it's hype.

But most the hardcorers are bored of WoW, endgame has never been the same since TBC, (I soloed the last 5% on Drakki on my female Nelf rogue and saved a wipe!!! Good Times!

), and the people I've spoke too that were looking for a way out were awaiting on WAR.

That or Conan!
