Hello i don't know if this useful or not, but i'm using harvest moon a new beginning eur version and the 1st item slot change work for me, maybe the cheats from the eur version might also work here?
I found this on fort42 Europe's copy and tried it on my Usa copy, it worked!

it seems to work on villagers, bachelor and bachelorettes, but other than that i can't say
I’ll have to check. I’m pretty sure there’s a way to check and see if the code works for everyone in the menus or something. Either way thanks that’s something less that they have to work on!! I really appreciate it!
