Do you think the SNES mini will have enough memory for the complete SNES library?
Maybe... When we could imagine how versatile NES Mini is?

True, I was excited about the NES mini with the 30 games it came with.

So im just curious. Whats the chances of getting your console bricked. Because $200 is alot for something that might become broken. I wana do it, but only if i know theres a good success ratio. And if i know how many bricks have been recorded. Just being cautious.
This would be the ideal scenario. Essentially being able to play SNES, Genesis/Megadrive, and Game Boy games on the NES Classic as we would with any NES game through the NES Classic's front end. And the ability to utilize save states for those games as we would with the NES Classic's front end. The key is that it is easy and elegant, like a simple folder for each system that, when accessed, would then bring up all the games for that system, with a 'back' button to return to the system folders. This is just an example, and getting there may or may not be technically feasible, but I think it more or less sums up what a lot of people would like to see with respect to multi-emulation on the NES Classic.
But that is exactly the idea, RetroArch will be implemented as main emulator, no use for the old one anymore. You should be able to load NES, SNES etc. from the GUI of the NES mini. You can have already shortcuts in the main UI to RetroArch. Just has to be implemented, that's all.This is exactly what i am hoping for !!!
@nesito
Can you check if Kid Dracula works with RetroArch, it probably would but i love to see it in one of your YouTube movies :-)
Some guy already managed to do exactly this.If that will be the case i will try to use RetroArch, but until it is done i stick to what it is now.
RetroArch should be the main emulator regardless, exactly for reasons you mention. For the people who only like to play NES games on their mini, just don't put SNES games on your mini if you don't want to use it, if this gets implemented. The point is that RetroArch is a way more versatile emulator all togetherFor those of you who want the NES Classic to stay 'NES only' and not use other emulators, why? Sure you can buy a raspberry pi, I have one, and snes games seem to run smoother on the NES classic, some games that stutter and slow down run great at full speed on the classic.
Also, just because YOU don't want to run SNES, Genesis, Gameboy games, doesn't mean that people should stop trying. Human progress is all about TRYING, if you want people to stop trying new things, then we will be back in the dark ages before you know it. Let other people put whatever they want on to the classic, if you only wan't NES games, then only put NES game on there, simple.
As for other issues, I would rather use retroarch for ALL emulation, it runs better than the default emulator, the sound is better, the screen options are better, the compatibility is better. If it really is just a trivial case to swap to using that instead, then I vote do it. I imagine it would be MORE work to have the two emulators running side-by-side and selecting which games run in which emulator based on weather they already work or not. Sounds crazy to me.
Apparently SD cards/USB drives are a possibility. I sure hope so. I have always hated this sort of data transfer, having to re-flash the whole device just to add a single game, losing save states etc. I hope someone can get around to supporting this idea.
Keep coding, keep experimenting, have fun, make the classic better for everyone, not just those who have an odd purist attitude to something that isn't pure to begin with.
Did you pay attention to the fact that he is launching a Genesis game from within the GUI of the Nes Mini without using the interface of RetroArch?I just want the layout to look better ;-)

Plus owning the Famicom Mini instead of the NESCE, I don't have the option of getting a different controller.
If you have a little time and very little soldering skill, then that option is there.

Yeah me too.. geduld is een schone zaakYes i did but it is not what i meant, it is just what i want but at the moment this is not possible with the normal Hakchi2 tool, i am waiting for that ;-)
