Did we get it working on vWii yet?
No.

Note: This topic is present in 4 forums to raise awareness, and to make sure that anybody who can contribute information knows how.

Since there's a lot of interest in getting this backwards-compatible through hacking, I figured I'd make a thread detailing what's known about it so far.

For those who don't have one, it's basically a Classic Controller Pro without the wire and with the player LEDs from the Wiimote slapped on the bottom.

The idea is that through modding the System Menu, we can use the WUPC as if it were a normal Wiimote with a Classic Controller Pro attached to it.

The controller does connect via Bluetooth, and so the original Wii system already has the necessary hardware. We don't know the PIN yet.

I'm not sure if it can pair via the USB charging cable, but if it does we can simply use that to pair.

If you have any useful information that you think should be in this post, reply and I'll be sure to put it in.

TL;DR if you have new info post it!

Since there will likely be ongoing discussions in all 4 threads in the different forums that could be of interest to anyone who would stumble across one of the threads or the other, it might be a good idea to link the other threads in each OP. That way if any of the threads get buried in the topic list because of inactivity, it's more likely that someone will get to it following the link and be more likely for it to be bumped.

At first I was going to suggest closing all but one and just putting an "ongoing discussion" link to concentrate the discussion in just one thread ... but that would be MORE likely to get buried in the forum if it wasn't stickied (and I wouldn't count on that one.) so I think awareness will be higher with the latter approach.

im going to try and get the pin (im really noob so dont get your hopes up)
i just have 1 question a bluetooth pin can only be 4 digits long right?

I would like to use wii u controller screen for vWii and to play vWii games. I also would like to use same controller on pc through usb cable so no Wii U on, just use controller plugged into PC. Anyone know of hacking for this?

There's a way to use the GamePad to control the computer through Wi-Fi, but that's not exactly a mod or hack. The GamePad doesn't transmit data through the cable, so it can't be paired that way.
Unfortunately, until we can softmod the Wii U, we can't modify vWii to use the GamePad.

Thanks for link. Saw the thread. Like a moron I did not see if Wii U needed to be on. Thought it worked over internet? Via browser?

My knowledge is basic, but it seems logically that if we find a way to use the WiiU Pro Controller in vWii, that the same would be true of using the WiiU gamepad as a controller. Obviously not full functionality (touchscreen ect), but shouldn't it be able to work as just a basic controller using whatever hack is found out to bring the WiiU Pro controller to vWii? Thanks!

The problem is the Pro controller connects through Bluetooth (basically, the same way a wiimote connects) and the gamepad connects through a modified WiFi connection that appears to have access to it blocked when you're in vWii mode.

about that... i have been thinking... what if i inject those libraries into the vWii IOS (despite the extreme risk of bricking) because those libraries work very well on nintendont
but the homebrew channel is also on dire need of integration.
I wouldn't do that unless you have a surefire way of unbricking your console, which I doubt...

indeed... but say.. i hear that nintendont also works on regular wii's as well. now i havent tried myself but they say that pro controllers work on regular wii's as well only in nintendont or other library patched homebrew. again not to sure on that statement but have my old wii sitting around maybe i can experiment with that and see. if nintendont & classic pro work on my standard wii then ill try to patch those libraries into the wii IOS (If possible) to test. the wii is defiantly un brickable if something goes wrong

Hope i wont offend anyone by reviving this thread but how is the situation? Is there a way to use the wii u pro controller for vwii games? I mean the gc games are working with the pro controller but the wii games not. Is there a way?

O hope that too. We have libwupc, and I think it could work for usb loader, wiiflow, etc
