I had an hardmoded wii the disk drive stoped and my fried softmoded him to play games with an hd drive in wbfs. The time passed and I get it out of my closed to see netflix in my old tv. I tried made it play games from USB in USB loader and wii flow.
To do this I updated my ios with this tutorial:

/threads/guide-to-safely-update-your-softmod-fixes-most-compatibility-issues.394397/

But when I open usb loder it do not recognise my USB (formated in FAT32 with games in wbfs). And in Wiiflowlite I can brose the games in usb but when I try play it reniciate the wii.

Anyone know what I made wrong?

Hello,

Use an external hard drive for the wii.

Do not use USB keys, it works poorly with the Wii.

Is your loader (USB loader gx version 1268) up to date?

You system is good. don't edit or install new IOS.

So, 2 possibilities :

1. you plugged your device in the wrong USB port ! --> plug in the other port.
you need to use USB Port0, it's at the bottom on Wii, at the back-top on WiiU.

2. your device is not compatible with cIOS --> use another device

it works with wiiflow, because it uses IOS58 by default inside the loader, and IOS58 works with ALL usb ports.
but once you launch a game, it uses cIOS249, which works only with USB Port 0.

USB LoaderGX uses 249 by default (in r1268, I might change that default slot to 58 later). But you can manually edit the used to to use IOS58 too, but you'll have the same issue when launching a game : you need both USB Port 0 AND a working device (not a flash drive)

IOS58 has also better compatibility with flash drives, but same problem when you'll try to launch a game and it will use cIOS249 it will lose access to the device.

Secret to working loader :
1. cIOS d2x v8 on Wii, cIOS d2x v10 r52 on vWii
2. USB Port 0
3. NO FLASH !
(4. optional : set IOS58 in the loader's setting)

VBAGX and HUGOGX CHANNEL FORWARDER HELP??

when i click on the channel and hit start, they load up and than kick back out to wii menu. if go to the emulators thru the homebrew channel they work fine.

advice?

I even installed the vbagx through homebrew channel and it still does it. The turbografx channel says I need to place boot.dol in the hugo gx folder? hugo gx does have a boot.dol and the channel is a .wad so i cant put anything in it. Should i place the .wad in the hugo gx apps folder?

Dude, don't post stuff in threads that don't have anything to do with what you're asking. This has nothing at all to do with emulators.
