.hack//IMOQ 2K Texture Pack is a all in one 2K texture pack for:

  • .hack// Quarantine: Part 4 (SLUS-20564)

For upscaling this project is using HDCube4Plus and manual editing(UI and background elements).

Install:
  • 1. Download the latest STABLE Pcsx2 nightly build.
  • 2. Extract the folder to the pcsx2 texture folder (...\Pcsx2\textures\)
    SSD recommended!!
  • 3. Rename the main folder to game specific code (game codes inside the folder)
  • 4. Config > Graphics Settings > Texture Replacement tab:
    Load Textures: ON | Async Texture Loading: ON
  • 5. Have fun! :)

Known issues:
- Texture dumping produces a lot of garbage text textures
- First-person view creates duplicates, PCSX2 emulator translates First-person view and Third Person View differently
- No upscale for most of the text - the games use a script to generate text ingame and PCSX2 translates the output to a texture
- Some weapon textures missing - weapon textures are only generated on use, I will go over all weapons after finishing .hack//Quarantine: Part 4
- Went over all weapons but can not be sure if I have dumped and upscaled all the weapons

What's next:
Texture dumping and upscaling .hack//Mutation: Part 2 (SLUS-20562)
Texture dumping and upscaling .hack// Outbreak: Part 3 (SLUS-20563)
Texture dumping and upscaling .hack//Quarantine: Part 4 (SLUS-20564)

Passive support for the pack based on feedback, right now I have not planning to include Fragment in this pack but it should still work.



Extras:
This removes the constant Battle Mode and Attack text from combat and declutters the already full battle area.

Download:
PNG version size 4.6GB(compressed 4.3GB) - best for editing but uses more CPU and GPU than DDS
DDS version size 3.5GB(compressed 1.8GB) - DDS is not lossless format so do not edit, but is more optimized for PCSX2

Finished .hack// Mutation: Part 2 (SLUS-20562)

What's new:
- Most of the weapons textures are done (Mutation)
- All dungeon biomes textures dumped and upscaled
- Extra background redone (Mutation)
- Most of the .hack// Mutation: Part 2 is upscaled and tested

Known issues:
- Extra background duplication, game art extras are considered new textures
- Missing some regular weapon skins because weapons need to be equipped and dumped (rare weapons done), I will go over every weapon in Quarantine

Thanks so much for your efforts; this is one of the best looking packs I think I've ever seen in striking the delicate balance of improving the clarity and detail of the game while preserving the original overall style (and not going so overboard on the upscale that artifacts and over-sharpening abound). Great stuff!

Glad to hear your positive feedback. There is also a similar pack from CCKrizalid

It was my baseline for that this project pack and I am finishing Outbreak in a few days. :D

What's new:
- Corrected News article issues and redraw News portal UI

- Extra background redone (Outbreak)
- Most of the .hack// Outbreak: Part 2 is upscaled and tested
- Integrated the Extra Battle Mode visual remover, because it improves game experience

Known issues:
- Mutation background text cropped at the end, problem is likely a scaling issue because it is also visible in non upscaled mode
- Missing some regular weapon skins because weapons need to be equipped and dumped (rare weapons done), I will go over every weapon in Quarantine
- Mutation background has updated info link that I forgot do update

Most of the .hack series textures are upscaled and done and they should also work in Quarantine already, but I am also playtesting each game to 100%. So it take a bit time do finish each pack update.

What's new:

- Adding DDS version for compression
- Tested updated version of PCSX2 v2.7.65 and everything still works

Known issues:
- Missing some basic weapons because gift system does not work after a lot of gifted weapons. I have done item collection quest but I am still unsure if I managed to dump all weapon skins.

What's next:
- Right now I have no interest in Fragment, the pack should still work I have not tested it. This pack will be in passive mode for now and I will really appreciate if you give feedback about missing textures.

Just a small update

Added DDS version for the pack, it is smaller in size and more optimized for texture loading for PCSX2(uses less CPU and GPU than PNG). Format DDS BC7 8bpp, Linear, 8-bit Alpha, no bitmaps.
I have tested it a little bit and everything seems running fine.
