I think that if they mean "Last .hack//" they mean it. They've done prequels and spinoffs before. Unless they make a new version of "The World" again...which also wouldn't fit into the lore, their really isn't much more they could do. And while the character at the bottom looks suspiciously like Kite, I wouldn't be surprised if it was merely a cameo since the rest looks nothing like what we've seen in .hack before.
They said Link will be the last .hack, so I don't think this will be a .hack franchise title. Maybe will be cameos of chars of .hack universe, but hardlly a new .hack game.
I'm hoping for a Spin-Off from .Hack since they main series are done I suppose or a Cross over between Tails concerto and .Hack//

First they don't release a .hack// The World MMO..... Now they tell us they won't make .hack// shit for us Nintendo peoples???
There is a .hack// MMO developed by a fan with the permission of cc2. Also, a .hack// game in the Wii will be great, and maybe a full fledged .hack// mmo like the GU in the PC will be enough for me to spend my money in a monthly based subscription.
Where is this MMO? Is it that crappy 2D one I found once? Cause it had a nice interface and stuff... I couldn't get it to play though. Something about the server never being open when I wanted to play.
