Homebrew GYTB Error

Well, my ninteno shuts down when I try to add new badges through GYTB
And I found a comment from MrCheese that says "You cannot have more than 1000 badges, this is a limit built into the system." (Sorry, I can't upload hyperlink because I'm a new member.)
So does that mean I can't add more than 1000 badges "at once" or I just can't have more than 1000 badges? Which is right?

It means you can't have more than 1000 badges in the badges folder at all. If you switch some out it'll replace the others that you switched out. Also a bigger image like 256 x 256 will break into 4 and that counts as 4 towards the 1000 limit.
