The promotion
Activision is gonna give away a free copy of Guitar Hero: Van Halen (the next GH game after GH5) to those who purchase Guitar Hero 5 in the month of September.
deal applys only to United States
How to sign up for GH:VH?
Simply go to the link below on or after September 1st. You will need the unique game ID on the back of the manual.

It will take 4-6 weeks max. If you sign up on the first eligible day, Sept. 1st, you will receive GH:VH at the latest on October 13th.
But GH:VH doesn't come out until December!
Just one more perk of the offer.
applies for all consoles that have GH5. So, the Wii, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 versions can all get GH:VH free.

A note on the expiration date. Most sources say this offer expires on October 1st, hence the "buy the game in September" promotion. However, the official site says October 31st is the expiration date. I would recommend getting it sooner than October 1st just to be safe.
