The thread for the button hack seems to have died, and I didn't want revive it, since my topic is more specific. I'm wondering what would be required to reconfigure the button assignments for the arm9.bin hack? I really want to play this game, and would certainly buy it if I had the $50 to throw at it. Only those two buttons (red and green) need to be switched around, and I think this game would be perfectly playable.

Can we fix this somehow?

Thanks

theres a cheat file now that gives the following configs ..

Exciting news folks! I added in some codes for Guitar hero that allows you to play the game without the grip without the need of a patch! Thats right, just take a clean dump of the game and enable the grip codes and you can play the game using just the normal buttons.

Here are the button layouts that are currently supported:
Y = Green, B = Red, A = Yellow, X = Blue
Up = Green, Right = Red, B = Yellow, A = Blue
X = Green, Y = Red, B = Yellow, A = Blue

No, I know, and if it's the same fix, then that's why I made this topic. The red and green buttons for that hack need to be switched out with one another, with respect to their placement on the face buttons. As is, it's virtually impossible to play certain combinations of notes together because you'll get stuff where the X-button and B-button have to be played together, or the A and Y-button...

I would say this is the perfect setup:

L - Green (Left Index)

Up/Right/Down - Red (Left Thumb)

B/X/Y - Yellow (Right Thumb)

R - Blue (Right Index)

That control would handle the regular stance of holding the DS, you would just have to turn it

Next would be holding the DS from one side like this

Righty:

R - Green (Thumb)

Y - Red (Index)

A - Yellow (Middle)

B - Blue (Ring)

Lefty:

L - Green (Ring)

Up - Red (Middle)

Left - Yellow (Index)

Down - Blue (Thumb)

the problem with cheats is also.
they don't work for all flashcards...
i'd really like the RXAB button config, but i'd either need a complete RXAB button-hack of the arm9.bin
or an arm9.bin with only the grip check removed.

this because my m3real doesn't load the grip check removal code in time.
