Its almost impossible to create a banner in CustomizeMii that will brick your wii, as it has security checks to prevent you from doing just that, and if you are installing wads you should have priiloader or bootmii as boot2 installed anyway, so don't worry about bannerbricks. Anyway, here are the basic steps to create a channel.

Step 1: in the "Source" tab choose the wad animation you want, you can see what they look like using the "preview" button.
Step 2: in the "Title tab enter the title for the channel.
Step 3: in the "Options" tab under "Title ID" put in a unique, 4 character title id.
Under "New DOL" put the dol for your emulator, if you want to make a forwarder channel, click forwarder and add the path to the dol on your sd card.
Under "New Sound" put the sound you want for the background music of the channel.
Step 4: in the "Banner" tab you will see all the images used for the banner you selected. By previewing them, you should be able to see what part of the banner they are for, and then replace them with your own pictures.
Step 5: in the "Icon" tab, do the same as in step 4, except this time you are editing the icon, not the banner.
Step 6: Click "Create Wad" and then install it on your wii, enjoy!

If you have any questions, feel free to ask, the "Help" tab in CustomizeMii also has some useful info.
Hope this helps, and sorry if I made it look difficult, its actually quite easy

My advice in that case is to have a look at the animations in existing channels (download the CustomizeMii base WADs, extract the banners and convert with benzin), and try to understand them. Also look at these pages on the WADder wiki:

http://wadder.net/wiki/index.php/Editing_Banners_with_Benzin - General banner documentation
http://wadder.net/wiki/index.php/Brlyt_Documentation - Information on BRLYT (the texture list, essentially)
http://wadder.net/wiki/index.php/Brlan_Documentation - Information on BRLAN (the actual animation file)

The BRLAN format is relatively simple, as you can easily see if you download one of the "WADder Base" channels, with very simple animation. I have never got round to fully learning the ins and outs of the BRLYT format, but I guess with a couple of hours you should be able to get the gist of it.

This file from the Benzin git should also be useful in creating animations: https://github.com/SquidMan/benzin/blob/master/animtypes.txt

(Don't worry if you don't understand that file right now, all should become clear once you look at a few XMLAN files (the files that Benzin converts BRLANs to), and you will understand what the stuff in that .TXT means)

Finally, for a GIF-style animation (i.e. frame based, rather than individual objects being manipulated), look here: http://wadder.net/wiki/index.php/Brlan_RLTP

You could have a look at the post I made here: http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?17,60671,60940#msg-60940

I tried to explain the channel creation process in depth, which may look complicated, but is fairly straight forward.

hi, Sifjar, sorry for my poor english. i want to ask you that i have followed your post(http://forum.wiibrew.org/read.php?17,60671,60940#msg-60940) to creat a usbloader forwarder based the "static base" by the customizemii 3.11 . And the forwarder point to sd:/usbloader/boot.dol.
It runs quite well. But just one problem exist:
When i entered the forwarder channel on my wii, my tv would became black for about 1-2 seconds, and it would prompt some white words in several rows(such as : fat partition initialization...etc)on the black tv screen ...And then it run the usbloader program successfully.

That's the "forwarder" part of the app. It's basically telling you that it is trying to find the app you want to load, and then saying it has found it and is now loading it. What's the problem?

thank you,but are there any methods which i can use to conceal the showing of that prompt instead of directly displaying the CFG program?

Write your own forwarder and stick it in the channel. Only option, unless you can find a forwarder else where that doesn't have text.

You could also make a complex forwarder with customizemii (requires devkitpro and the libogc on this page) and then you can put a picture while the forwarder loads the dol instead of text.

also does anyone have a backup of the wadder wiki?
