After swopping out the case and screen I turned on my switch lite to hear a grinding noise from the fan. It was worse when holding the unit screen up, and improved as it was tilted down and disappeared when the screen faced down.
Searches basically suggested replacing the fan. This is what worked for me and maybe you should try it out if you’re in the same boat:
Check the fan inlet. It sits under the foam attached to the heat sink. Mine was bent as shown by the red line in the pic. Turns out I had bent it while trying to stick the foam piece back down. After straightening it, the problem was completely gone!
