I alternate between the two. Though I'm sure this isn't a regional variant (a la color/colour, but I could be mistaken, as I usually am).

I usually use grey, but sometimes I use Gray of the other person does (although IDK why we would be talking about grey)
Edit: And I don't think it's a regional thing either.
 
I would probably say it the other way round if I did say it like that.

I never knew that.
I say gray like Gra-ayyyyyy, and then grey like, a lower tone and pronunciation of Gray, so like Gre-eh.
 
I had a teacher named Mr Gray. Now I have no idea which version of gray is the Murican one.
 
My english dictionary says that both refer to the color name, but gray is commonly used in the U.S.A. while grey is in the UK.

Also wordereference.com reports the same.

Both can be a surname, like many colours in many languages.
 
I'm inconsistent with my spelling of grey/gray, I use both.

I see no difference.
