Heyo, ladies and gents.

Earlier today, I got a 256-gigabyte microSD. Now, I wanna do the following:

1. Replace the 64 GB microSD in my Switch with the 256 GB one.
2. Install emmuMMC (since, at the moment, all I have is sysCFW).
and 3. Maybe(?) set up Android on it. Probably dedicate only 32 GB of SD space for the thing.

So, what in blazes do I do now?

You can use Hekate to partition your new card.

You can use Hekate to partition your new card.
Just like that?
It's just that the tutorial on the Switch Hacks Guide lists three versions.

1. "If you are using a file-based emuMMC or are using no emuMMC at all" (probably the one I'm using).
And 2. "If you are using a partition-based emuMMC."

And what if I want to transfer my data from the 64 GB SD to the 256 GB SD? Can I just drag-n-drop, or is it a different process because FAT32 drives don't like it when you transfer files larger than 4 gigabytes to and from other drives of the same FAT format?

You have to move your emunand you have to backup your emunand and restore it, you got few options though either emutool, hekate or NXNANDManager

What's the process like with Hekate? Is it harder than using Emutook and or NXNANDManager? Is it practical?

You probably have to use Hekate to partition your card, since you want to add android, seem to be same level of difficulty, I mean if you follow the direction given it should work, even though I never use Android or Linux on Switch

Here's what NOT to do, fill it with games. Because then when something gets corrupt there will be a "I have to reinstall 100 games!!!!" topic. ;)
Will do. I'll back up my BOTW and SMO game data.

Can I transfer the 64 GB SD Card files over to the 256 GB SD in Hekate? Or do I have to use a different program for that?

I will test the SD card with H2testw if you haven't though that is the first thing to do with new SD card.

You can setup the new card emunand and android first then transfer the files over.

Should work fine, I mean you just have to partition it correctly since you also wanted to use android.
Update: I've changed my mind. I no longer wish to use Android. I just want to create an emuMMC.

I'm also gonna try fresh installing everything, rather than transferring the files over from my old SD. Should I do that?

You still have to move your emunand or create a new one

I followed this guide successfully

Honestly, it looks daunting but it's so easy... Just read through it then follow it to the letter.

Iirc it backs up your og image to your sd card but if you dont have enough space ot will split into oarts5and allow to move to a pc or whatever, then will merge them all back!
Quick question. I originally only used sysCFW, and only now am I bothering to set up emuMMC. Do I just follow the steps as is, or are there some I need to add/remove?
