does any one know of a safe way to convert wma to mp3?
do you need a converter? are they safe?
also i could not find out if itunes, zune or if windows media player can do this.

i would rather not download something that has a chance of messing up the computer.

sorry if it has been asked but i used the search and nothing came up.

Are they DRM infected WMA files (if you got them from a shop then probably, not sure about newer windows media player but the older ones did it by default as well). There are ways to get around if for some versions but I have not kept up with it of late (the analogue loop is an option but that will mean a quality hit), have a look around http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?&f=9 for more info.

After that there are loads of programs, try the ones already suggested or have a look through somewhere like: http://www.free-codecs.com/Software/Audio_Encoders.htm

It is liable to sound awful (WMA is not the nicest of formats and people do not tend to do it properly either), find the original CD if you can or grab it again from somewhere else would be my suggestion.

thanks you guys, sorry for posting in the wrong spot. (took me awhile to find this once it was moved:))
this really helps.

Total Video Converter is great for sound AND video files. Of course there's a price but members in a piracy site should know a way around that
