So I bought an el cheapo USB PS4 controller from the Amazon. Everything seemed fine at first. But then I upgraded my hard drive which required me to reinstall the OS. I had to press the PS button but it wouldn't work. Every other time I had to press PS, it works; but not at this utterly crucial time. So I figured I'd keep it. After all, how often does one reinstall the OS? Then I started playing with emulator fPKGs created from PS1 games and I discovered more problems: they mostly get stuck at a blue screen asking you to press "Start" (ie. the right side of the touchpad) but it doesn't work and there's no way past this blue screen. Even when games did work, you had no start or select buttons.....

I finally decided to return the $15 POS and just bought a new Sony controller. I'm guessing the reason the damn things cost $59.95 is that nobody has made a true, 100 percent working knock-off? Is there one?

If wired is ok nacon, very nice!

if you need BT then look up UH-ZCT2U, work perfect.

There is also adapters like the Bliss-Box that let you use older controllers like snes up to ds2, you wont get the touch pad unless you use something like a wiiu Draw, and no gyros unless you use a nun chcuk but it works if you use that stuff. Pricey option though, best to buy a ps4 by sony.

I have a couple DATA FROG ps4 controllers that I bought from AliExpress.

They work perfectly fine and they are cheap.
No problem with battery life, wireless reach etc.
