Hacking Golden Sun DD Freezing please help!

I am near the end of the game and I have had no problems at all until now. For some reason though any time I try and bring up the game menu now(by pressing X), the game freezes!

What should I do? I am like 35 hours in the game not being able to finish would be really upsetting.

whew, I think I'm ok. I guess the rom must have gotten corrupt or something, I dled a new copy of the rom and now it is working again.
