Hacking godmode9

I can start up godmode9 just fine, but when I'm asked to open the action menu by pressing the home button is where I'm stumped. whenever i press the home button - nothing happens. and i know my home button works perfectly fine. is there something I'm missing?

1. Press (Home) to bring up the action menu
2. Select “Scripts…”
3. Select “Backup SysNAND”

I just thought that I could ignore that and use the sysNAND backup from the sysNAND backup/restore options from the menu you see as soon as you start up godmode9, but that doesn't seem to be the case since in later steps it seems to be used a lot, and is probably why i can't find 0: sdcard.

seeing as i don't know exactly know what those thr scripts are im guessing i don't :o i just thought of getting what the website said i needed it to install boot9strap and i'd be set.
but I checked out installing godmode9 and following the steps i dont have the .bin file they mention either.
