Hi guys, I recently updated my 3ds to 11.9 (was in 11.8 i did a backup sysnand before i updated) and downloaded a game called Team kirby clash deluxe.
after opening and playing the game i started to have some error screens which restarted my console.. which had me worried so i went back to GodMod9 and followed this tutorial https://3ds.hacks.guide/godmode9-usage. to do a safe backup.

while installing the sysnand backup i had an error saying:

0:/gm9/scripts/GM9Megasript.gm9
line 134: copy fail
cp -w n I:/ctrnand_full.bin ...

after exeting GodMode9 and trying to go into my 3ds... it comes up with a black screen and does not go further than that.
(I didn't copy my backup to a computer so this is the only backup i have)

Someone who can help with the backup part, help. I am going to do what I know.

1. Try booting without SD.
2. Do you care about saves and what you have/had installed (probably not if you want to restore backup)? If not, just do CTRTransfer via Godmode9, Decrypt9 or lazarus3d.

@TurdPooCharger
He already bricked probably.

i don't care about the data i just wanna restore it hehe, i will try method 2 and do a feedback. thank you a lot! Also when i reboot without SD it will just shut it's self down and do no further more

Erh, actually I'm privy of recommending battery trick for n2DSXL because of tri-y screws and there's a flex cable you gotta watch out for when you lift out the bottom cover plate.
Yea, but the battery trick "works" on every xDS system nonetheless.

When it doesn't boot without SD card, that means you don't have Luma3DS boot.firm in CTRNAND.

Before you decide to reflash the n2DSXL, you should copy everything off your SD card, reformat it in FAT32 + 32 KB cluster size, and full Write + Verify the empty card in H2testw program.

Not knowing what cause your Kirby game to brick the n2DSXL in the first place, a fake or faulty SD card can further brick the system if your card is not up to spec.

Yes in a way... In the case of the n2DSXL, I don't trust everyone to take a screwdriver and not accidentally tear that cable. You and I would find it's a cake walk, but some people are really bad at that kinda stuff.

after Transfering the image to CTRNAND and the tickets copy i restarted my n2dsxl as indicated... but after that. i only see the two screens light up but nothing else happens :/ Did i do something wrong? did i miss something?

It goes black, not even screenlights turn on
See if this changes anything.

GodMode9 → while hovering, white highlighting on [1:] SYSNAND CTRNAND → hold (R)-shoulder and press (A) → Fix CMACs for drive → <A> yes → button combo → <A> yes → button combo → <A> to continue<A> yes.
  • This will fix the CMAC hashes for certain *.db files found within the 1:/dbs directory.
***

If that does nothing and you still have that backed up SysNAND *.bin image that was made when you first hacked that n2DSXL:
  • GodMode9 → 0:/.../######_XX########_sysnand_000.bin NAND image options... → Restore SysNAND (safe) etc.

None worked :/ NAND restore failed
