Made-up description/comment of mine since I can't find any good source of translated description.
God Eater Offshot is outside of it's "JRPG" type of genre, it's a photoshoot game.. yes, a photoshooting genre. This games were released EXCLUSIVELY in japan along with the GOD EATER anime. There's 6 volumes in total, featuring the 1st Unit Members.. (I can't find any sources on Vol.1 or just it doesn't exist lol.)
Gameplay wise... Yeah, what you expect on paper, just your regular photoshoot game, you can, change, adjust character pose and change little of their facial expressions, and the game provides a few poses that sometimes tend to get repetitive but hey.. game is game.
The game also provides a simple story structure, which you can usually finish under 30 mins or less (at least on my experience).
And also another neat feature of Linking past volumes..
Linking your past Offshot games will grant you bonuses or just extra story... importing the past offshot games (feature starts in Vol.3 to Vol.7) to another volume also grants you to replay those past story into that volume..
If you get all of these linked up, you get the "Vacation" Special (Accessible in Vol.7)
And I forgot to mention about the Character Import save (blank character pixel image).
Offshot has a feature where you can use your character that you made ONLY IN GOD EATER RRESURRECTION (JP). If you don't have it, don't worry, you can use the male and female original characters that's been provided.
Basically the Vacation Special is like your typical anime beach episode.. and featuring the female GER casts.. including the side characters...
