so I may have been irresponsibly FTPing game files over to the hard drive while the game they're for was running to test a possible mod at the time, but I'm not entirely sure that's related to what happened.
Screen went black and sound stopped, doesn't get better with reboot, resetting video settings, or safe mode
BUT
the ps3 still starts like normal, I can still FTP in after turning it on and controllers sync just fine, unlike with a GLOD
Any help would be appreciated.

have tried other HDMI cables already and don't have composite cables available for testing
