Look, I'm no NOOB at all and quite frankly hate the term, but I feel sorry for the guys who are just coming onto the scene and are generally looking for info from the forums.

It can be difficult enough just trying to find the right information and/or software without some elitist sausage jockey looking down his nose at them. I say god bless them for wanting to learn and in time they will reach a certain level and will pass on the information to the next bunch. And so the chain continues.

What these idiots forget, is they too were once at this point and were probably asking the same questions and making the same mistakes. Everybody has to start somewhere and without the support of the more experienced and knowledgable hackers/modders, then the information wouldn't get passed down the line.

We all share a common factor here on GBATemp, a thirst for knowledge, so for gods sake pass the chalice!

Does anyone else agree?

I agree with you bazamuffin, I only got my first R4 last November and to begin with I couldn't even get the firmware to work.
I would hope I've not asked to many stupid questions and I try search this site or the net before I do have to ask, I also think I've managed to pass on some of the knowledge that I've gained.
It might sound silly but this can be quite an intimidating place so do try and give any one new a break unless they really are being lazy.

I don't mind newbs, but I dislike(not hate) noobs, especially those who join just to ask for roms or a translation request, then leave. Hmm I see a difference between newbs and noobs... MOST newbs make introduction topics while noobs just appear out of nowhere... Now was I a noob or a newb?....

It's near the suggestions forum, lol.

Seriously, don't expect me to respect someone who doesn't care enough to search for the info he wants before demanding it to be given to him in his first post. Besides, bazamuffin, how can you say that noobs don't get help from experienced members? Are you denying the existance of numerous stickies, guides, "noob helpin threads" and all those source of information? Nonesense.

Yeah and the person who posts the thread still gets help even though we tell them to search and look at the stickies.

Noobs, the ones who get their topic locked for rom requests and blatant disregard for the rules/community and just being plain lazy.

Newbs, the ones who ask the not so obvious questions, get help into the right direction. The ones we WANT at gbatemp.

I remember asking about three newb questions when i first joined, but i mostly lurked, which more 'noobs' should do
