Hacking GH: World Tour

Just a quick question, and I apologize if it has been already answered, I search and found people having troubles backing it up by patching it but nothing as to the update that is on the game. It asks for an update. Is it safe to do the update, I have the Backup Loader and Homebrew Stuff, and don't want to chance anything, so I figured I'd ask here first. The system is 3.2U
