Homebrew Getting Sonic the Hedgehog to work on Genesis Plus

I'm trying to play Sonic 1 on the Genesis Plus emulator.
I just can't get it to work properly. My Wii is PAL. In the emulator you can switch between NTSC and PAL.
But both don't work 100% right. In NTSC mode, speed and sound seem to be fine but the framerate is terrible, it's very choppy. In PAL mode, framerate is perfect, but the gameplay and sound are definitely too slow.
Any way I can fix this?

hmm, when i play the rom european pal, it works fine, not choppy at all, sound perfect, hmm unsure what problem you have?

Well, fixed it! So should someone else ever have the same problem: set the video mode in the emulator options to 60hz, that will fix it!
