Hacking Getting DSision2 to work on an R4

Changed the startpost. Turns out you can use the latest YSMenu and latest DSTT firmware. but you have to use the one that has Anti-Fake diabled

You have to delete Moonshell from your card, in order for it to work.
Or use a DLDI patched Moonshell 2.0.

small question:
Dsision2 runs fine with _r4.nds and _r4ds.nds, and as replacement _DS_MENU.dat firmware. i have ysmenu on the card and pre-dldi patched and it runs fine as well, and i can boot commercial backups from within Dsision2, but i cant run homebrew from within Dsision2. what gives?

If i run YSmenu from within Dsision2, THEN run the homebrew from within YSmenu, the homebrew is correctly autopatched and runs perfectly.

If i run homebrew from the official 1.18 R4DS firmware, its correctly autopatched and works fine.

If i run YSMenu from the official 1.18 R4DS firmware, then run homebrew from within YSMenu, the homebrew is correctly autopatched and works fine.

Dsision2 is AWESOME, its everything the original firmware should have been and MORE, but i use just as much homebrew as i play my catridge backups, thats why i bought a flashcart in the first place. i dont want this to be a deal breaker, can anyone please help me get homebrew running correctly from within DSision2???

also, homebrew that doesnt need DLDI patch (and thereforce doesnt read or write from sd card) works fine, and i assume that the autopatch routine within Dsision2 are either failing or not running at all. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR MAKING MY NEW YEAR BETTER!

I'm afraid this has more to do with the DSision2 internals.

You can't help with issues if they're not issues. DSision2 just doesn't have DLDI auto-patching. It's not a problem if it is just a case of not having a feature that you happen to love.

if that is the case, my mistake entirely. i guess i should probbaly suggest an option for any new builds that all files be run through YSMenu, instead of just commercial roms then. i could have sworn i read in the other thrad that dsission2 did dldi patch for homebrew and used ysmenu to run commercial games, i must have mis-read.

DSision IS a normal .nds file, you'll find it in the .rar, its called DSision.nds

DSision IS a normal .nds file, you'll find it in the .rar, its called DSision.nds

I laugh at you. Not really. I lied.
This is the best tutorial, but it doesn't tell you that if you have homebrew it won't work right. Unless you have a homebrew loading app on your DS you can't load it.

Homebrew that uses things in a folder? Nope, it'll tell you it can't load from the folder. Homebrew emulator? Black screen. Homebrew that's just by itself? PAlib error or something, depending on how it was made.

There's also a glitch where if you choose boxart on and you turn off and on your DS the wrong background will be shown behind the boxart, except on the iPod theme, where it's just fine.

And the names they show are completely glitched up.

If someone knows how to fix those errors, I might just dl it again... Because the fact that homebrew wouldn't load without me loading YSMenu pissed me off.
