Hacking Gecko OS vs. ModChip

Okay, so I recently put in a custom IOS into my Wii, and I'm really excited to use Gecko OS. However, I have a Dro9 chip with a USB programmer installed in my Wii, which requires that after finishing a game, you have to return the Wii Menu and eject the disc. What I'm worried about is that if I use Gecko OS to put some cheats into GH3 or something like that, will I still be able to return to the Menu and eject the disc with damaging and Homebrew or Wii files?
