I love how it looks like half a NDS with an analog stick. But isn't it a little too little too late? It looks like its only advantage over a tablet is dedicated controls.

"only"? that alone is night and day difference..
Plus it's pocketable, and at least half the price

are you talking about the ds and psp? the ds is getting a few updates (nesds, msx, zx spectrum, and pokemon mini) but the psp hasn't received emu updates for a while. on the other hand, the dingux community is thriving and releasing updates to homebrew and emulation all the time.

both, but I was not aware of what other functionality that this device (GCW Zero) was capable of other than emulation. I heard about it being on Kickstarter but that's about it. Whenever I get a chance I'll take a look at its gameplay vids

Even the phrase construction of my post made it clear i was responding you comment on tablets.
And it's not really hard guessing between NDS and a tablet which one the GCW costs half of.
My question was more of a statement than an actual question...

Tablets of similar specs can be found in the $50-$90

I'm curious why the OpenGL drivers won't be released as open source?

It sure would be nice if a kickstarter pledge (for amount of their choosing) would buy you a retail unit when available. The closest I see is that a $500 pledge will get you two test units for beta testing, but I'm even sure you get to keep them.

the $135 pledge gets you a unit. the $500 pledge is for developers and they get to keep both units.

Ok yes they were both made by Rare, but DK was from Rare back then, Rare now is owned by MS. So makes since.
