My son was playing with my GCW and lost it does anyone know of a good replacement system? Sadly cant replace the system. Was a linux system with multi app support hence multi dif game system and best part was sd game storage and snes feel.

A lot of people rave about the RG350 (and I think there is a slightly updated model as well). It runs a linux OS and also has emulators for most of the classic systems. There's a pretty good review of it at the video I put below. A lot of people also comparing it to the GCW Zero as well.

But there isn't really a homebrew community developing software for it, right? What you get out of the box is pretty much all you're getting?

There is a community that updates the emulators, etc.. and even homebrew games / ports have come out for it. There's even a custom firmware for it. A good place to chat and see some of the releases is the forum just search for RG350 forums and it comes up with a dingoonity rg350 forums.

There's a fair amount of updating that goes on for the software. Emulators get updates as well as new homebrew games and ports that come out. A pretty active forum is at https://boards.dingoonity.org/retro-game-350rg-350/ and they even have custom firmware for it.
