Given that RVLoader/GC2Wiimote are only developed for the Wii, what can be used on Wii U's vWii? It feels dumb having to navigate menus with a Wiimote just to play a game with a GameCube controller, or, especially, not being able to play games with anything but a Wiimote.

I am aware of forwarders, but that solves only half of the problem, and I don't seem to have much luck with that approach...

For reference, I had an issue with Nintendont forwarder where it broke Pro Controller for some reason.

For Wii games currently there aren't many options. I think a few Wii games can be injected to the Wii U menu with gamepad support, I haven't tested that but there should be some threads around here explaining the process. Other than that there's fakemote, but that only supports PS3 wired controllers and is still very buggy. Or you could use a mayflash adapter to connect your GameCube controller to your wiimote.

As for GameCube games, if you load them from USB Loader GX it should allow you to use a Wii U pro controller (and I think gamepad as well). You can even select the Wii U menu channel from within USB Loader if you want to go back, completely bypassing the need to use a wiimote.
