We're introducing an experiment called The Meme Box, which is meant for the community to share fun pictures and browse them comfortably from the home page.

► Upload your own memes by posting in the meme box thread; if your post gets 5+ likes you'll hit the home page.
► The full rules are detailed in the meme box thread.
► You are allowed to react to memes in the thread, even without including images/attachments: if you think a meme is good just say it.

Considering there's a very clear warning about distributing warnings for misuse, I think this *may* be fine.
At worst it's not impossible to prevent several members to reply to the thread either if they shitpost instead of providing good memes (I know that sounds weird said that way)

It still wouldn't stop Facebook style memes from being featured, or any offensive image if someone creates 5 alts (since it says that any image with 5 likes will automatically get featured)

The first one is inevitable (and to be honest, several may be good anyway)
For the other one, lol, if a kid gets so much free time on their hands, they need to be purged from the site.

It wouldn't be good for the site if an archive.org or web search bot just happens to crawl the site when it's live
