Hacking GBA expansion Questions

Hello!

Today i friend of mine gave me his GBA expansion stating that he didn't use it at all, i got happy and accepted the gift!

So, i downloaded Final Fantasy V & VI and tried saving it worked fine until i took out the GBA expansion and went into a DS game. When i put my GBA expansion in later the saves were gone and i had to start all over again. So now i got some questions!

1. Why did the save disappear?

2. What can i do to stop the saves from disappearing?

3. Are the saves stored on the GBA expansion or the M3 DS real card?

4. If the saves are on the GBA cart, then is there any way to make it save on the M3 DS real?

The saves are stored on the GBA expansion, when you restart the DS with the expansion in place it transfers them to the M3 Real.

Why take the expansion out?

Fancy that, I did a search for "M3 Real expansion gba save gone" And lo and behold the very first link that comes up has a solution to your answer. Seriously, this has been answered many many times before. Do a little searching next time.

What version of the firmware are you using? The most up to date Sakura seems to have solved every gba save issue I've tested.
