i do remember playing a similar PC game which was so fun but i was young and noobish
the multiplayer part seems the best but is it possible? maybe it was the reason the game got delayed or cancelled

For those that care, there is a homebrew project that has been going on for a while to provide the Gauntlet experience. It's in French, I think, but it's still playable. MicroLua DS.
