Yeah I dont even run cheats haha.

I guess the ONLY reason to have this newest FW is to go online which I dont do and if any games require the 11xx firmware SDK.

But yeah it seems there aren't and probably wont be for awhile game that need 11.xx to even run.

What is everyone looking forward to on the 3ds on 2017? AKA, lets guess what the first game to actually require 11.xx might be :)

Hey all!

I have a gateway with a 4.xx sysnand and 10.xx emunand.

I understand now that there are full software solutions but learned that they take forever to install. Having to first copy the CIA to a memcard then install the CIA.

Just last night I grabbed a few of the latest 3ds backups from this month and within about 5 min of transferring, I had them booted and rocking and rolling on the gateway.

Gateway is still a viable option right? I mean I only wish to play my backups and thats it

THanks

Yeah just stay in GW. Been there until yesterday, just forced myself into 11.3 and luma because I got a shiny new N3DS which arrived yesterday (ordered it before 11.3) and I wanted to system transfer. The good thing about Luma is that you feel super safe and doesn't really need to get nervous around being in SysNAND, but other than that GW is good to go and I hope I can use mine again soon.

If you really want to continue supporting an obsolete DRM dongle no one's stopping you.
If they already bought it and used it for some time its likely paid for iteself... but if they still have it... why not keep using it? Its just getting more mileage for the money they already paid. Or did you not read his question (or anything in this thread) and assume he wants to buy one?

This again?

It's a good cheat device at the very least, and those were always commercial (GameShark, Game Genie, etc) plus .3ds games are way more practical to switch between than .cia or freeshop.

Gateway absolutely was only a product designed to profit off of piracy and nothing more. Most people here don't remember but from mid 2013-late 2014 garyopa and whoever else working with him held the 3DS scene hostage with this piece of trash. Everyone here is lucky people like smealum exist otherwise your free custom firmwares wouldn't be a thing. People like to forget about how the PS3 scene almost died because of the same shit. Or how the 3DS scene basically didn't exist until Gateway finally became worthless.

Considering how some ungrateful folks believe piracy and warez are their god given right, those guys at GW were right to profit off their exploits.

It still was way cheaper than getting ripped buying a 3ds below 4.5 off ebay.

See how you say we are "lucky" rather than "grateful"? You get lucky when you get free, easy stuff, you feel entitled to it and not grateful.

Hate on Gateway all you want, it's useful for those who have it and it cost me less than a PS4 game. If you really were around you should know that the only trash back then were sky3ds and its fake limitation on flash writes and gw clones.

I feel grateful to those who put out exploits, whether they profit off it or not, and I know piracy and homebrew are privileges rather than entitlements.

Cheers!

Yeah I dont feel like waiting 10 years to install CIA files. Seems like people spend more time installing CIA's then they do playing the game itself. I just popped 9 new roms on my gateway in about 5min while reading threads about certain games taking hours to install. I have limited time so Gateway is not obsolete at all.
