Only for ROMs that use NAND save. Other saves are stored on the large SD card of the 3DS.
Doesn't Monster Hunter do it too? I remember seeing something about it last year but then the threads/posts stopped suddenly.
Nah, Monster Hunter just had some random compatibility issue with the Gateway AFAIK that was fixed a long time ago.
