Hello,
I just got a gateway and when I try to run the blue card I click on the deep labyrinth and it goes to lack screen that says an error has occurred I'm unsure how to solve this
I've tried Micro SD cards (a 1gb microsd kingston, a 4g micro sdhc adata and a 64gb mico sdxc samsung evo
all give the same error.

I have tried formatting them on my Mac and dragging over the file I have also tried it on a PC with the Windows format same thing and I even tried with the Panasonic SD formatter

One thing I did notice Is I was able to put the part with the files on my DS lite and it read them (not that it does me any good because It can't run the exploit) but it makes me wonder is it a problem with my 3DS?

thanks

What FW is your 3DS? Because the blue card needs to be on 6.0 or less to run (also 4.5 for the exploit). Do you happen to have a different DS mode flash cart? Any will work such as SuperCard or R4 cards.

its 4.5

i have a original r4 i used for my DS but it doesn't look like the 3ds recognizes it so i can't use it instead of the blue cart
On a side note the blue cart loads the Gateway menu on my DS lite (not that it does me good) and brings me the gateway installer when I try to open the .NDS file

Other than that I know my 3DS can play legit DS games(I don't have any 3DS games yet to try it out) but I assume that means the slot on the 3DS isn't bad

So yeah it's really confusing

I believe you were given a "fake" GW blue card. One that works on the DSlite but not on 3DS (the blue card needs to be one that is compatible with the DSi for the exploit to happen, I believe).

Blue carts are originally some cheap flashcarts from another company, GW just took them in bulk to be able to run the exploit, and there are a billion scammy versions of them with very similar names. I believe it's very possible that whoever sold it to you took the incompatible version flashcard and slapped in the GW blue sticker in that.

Did you buy it from an official seller? If you did, you'll have great chances of getting the right blue cart by contacting gateway, if you didn't buy from official resellers, you are left to the good faith of those shops to wanting to help you.

I think carts using the 'deep labyrinth' exploit are good up to 3DS FW6.1 and it works with the same files on the microsd in a DS lite, so it doesn't appear to be a 'fake' blue card (I could be wrong).

I'd try a factory reset (format system memory), as piratesephiroth suggested, if that doesn't work then perhaps it might be a contact issue. You could try the 'paper trick' of folding a piece of paper once or twice and holding it on the side of the cart opposite the contacts as you insert it.

Other than that I guess you'll need to find another ds mode flashcart that works on a 4.5 3DS.

The folding trick didn't work, and I did factory reset and it still didn't help.
So I tried a friends 3DS game and it worked so my only guess is that my blue card is fake/defective (I'm leaning towards fake because if it was defective it shouldn't working a regular DSlite) :-(… so what's the best/cheapest safe alternative for me to buy to replace the blue card?

tbh a lot of people with faulty blue cards said they worked on a DS lite,im guessing with the 3ds being more secure in regards to what it reads, any sort of manufacturing error causes the 3ds not to accept it whilst a NDS doesn't really care all that much

So I've contacted the seller (yeahgeek) several times and they're giving me the runaround, despite claiming they reimburse for return shipping getting them to actually give me an amount is proving troublesome.
What DS card would you recommend me get? I hear a lot of people mentioning the DSTWO but it is on the pricey side
my whole aim for not going with the official reseller was to save money, so ideally I'm looking for affordable but functional :S

On a sidenote, considering my 2 options are 1) it's a clone or 2) it's defective since they claim they do 100% testing is it safe to assume it's a clone?
That being the case, would it be possible for me to maybe do a chargeback with the credit card company on the assumption that it's a clone and not genuine? (just a thought)

thanks

As some people already said the blue carts most likely aren't even made by the Gateway team.
They just buy them cheap from someone else... these defective blue carts aren't very rare.
