This is a really buggy release.
I hope N3DS compatibility update fixes most if not all issues addressed, since there are listed everywhere in here.

It's not that buggy.. if you actually follow the instruction. A lot of people posting here didn't even follow the basic guides, and are asking questions they could find out with about 10 seconds of reading those mentioned guides. I wish we had any word on what kind of exploit N3DS will be like, seeing as a downgrade is very unlikely.

Same problem in mine with 4.5 and GW3.0.1... Maybe is a bug?

it uses a cellphone with android that runs the exploit "OFFLINE"

I think it is a better way than connect the 3ds to internet... just to avoid an accidentally update or when the server is down...

Why not use 3.0.1? it has Downgrade and sysNAND restore option, and small bug fixes. All you gotta do is replace the Launcher.DAT file for the new one.

I had problems that ironed out with patience and understanding things. Specifically launching the exploit through the browser. Now it does so every time, and I learned how to noodle around the save dumping problem with Pokemon games. The only reason I got Gateway was for pokemon and using PKHex. Now I have, and also added Shovel Knight to one of my 3DSXLs (I legit paid for the Wii U version by the way).

I'm still hoping though that GW will make save backup/restore possible for Pokemon games (aka Card2 games). The only drag is having to start over on all roms and save after getting the Pokedex, so I could use Pokemon Bank and inject wondercards and .pk6s from past/international events. Oh and running emunand from a different region.

So, guys, tell me if I'm mistaken. I'm getting my first GW in a few days.
These are the steps I have to make in order to have 4.5 sysNAND and 9.4 emuNAND, right?

1) go to gateway site and select downloads
2) download my 3DS REGION and the latest ULTRA Public Beta files
3) place .DG and launcher.dat on my 3DS SD card
4) load gateway exploit through BROWSER menu
5) hold L as soon as bottom screen turns white
6) backup my sysNAND
7) at Gateway menu scroll right to downgrade selection
8) follow on screen prompts
9) that's it, I put my sysNAND in my PC
Now I install the blue card exploit and that's it?
After I end doing the downgrade I just turn off the 3DS and try to install the blue exploit?
Is there anything else that I have to do? (Anything that is not in the list I put but is important)

It definitely works. Only feature that you should avoid is eshop and data management

Wait, avoid eshop on emuNAND? Why? I thought one of the purposes of emuNAND was that you could use eshop to download your games and game updates... and if you mean sysNAND, wouldn't that require updating sysNAND anyway?

Well, if you install .cia's with big blue menu and you will lose them all once you go into the eShop, I believe.

What? I've used eshop several times and my cia files are still there.
