I realize GBAtemp might not be the best place to make a decision like this, but we need a title for a genre of games we all have played at some point. Wait Time games. It's easy to describe. Games in which you can only a certain amount of stuff in an allotted amount of time. Examples; Mafia Wars. Kingdoms at War. War Metal Tyrant. To say the least, games where you have energy or mana (usually 100 to be maxed out) and each mission cost (x) amount of energy, and rewards (y) amount of funds. You get the picture right? What is this genre called, or what should we call it?

Genre naming is kind of pointless, as seen here:

Tales of Phantasia's officially named genre: Legendary RPG
Tales of Destiny's officially named genre: RPG of Destiny
Tales of Eternia's officially named genre: RPG of Eternity and Bonds
Tales of Destiny 2's officially named genre: RPG To Release Destiny
Tales of Symphonia's officially named genre: To Resonate With You RPG
Tales of Rebirth's officially named genre: RPG Where You Will Be Reborn
Tales of Legendia's officially named genre: RPG Where Bonds Spin Legends
Tales of Vesperia's officially named genre: RPG to Enforce "Justice"
Tales of Hearts' officially named genre: RPG to Meet the Heart
Tales of Graces' officially named genre: RPG to Know the Strength to Protect

All of these are Action-RPGs, but they all have different genres.

Wow, I didn't know that. That's so dumb.

Some things just defy the constraints of genre. For my money, that sounds like a Strategy RPG, or a RP Strategy game.

You call those Facebook games.

I kind of understand where they're going with that, but it isn't really needed. Tales games are action-RPGs, not RPG to whatever or whatever.
As a Tales fan, I have to agree that they're really unnecessary. I don't even know why they do it tbh.

As far as that goes for Abyss, it's a tad pretentious. Most other games would just classify that as the way the story went and how characters proceed through it.

What's Abyss's?
"to know the meaning of life" or something to that effect

EDIT: From Wikipedia:
RPG of Discovering the Meaning of Life
That must have been listed after I posted, since when I looked the genre wasn't listed.

Edit) Nope, it's still not there. Where on the Wikipedia page for Abyss did you find it?

It was likely posted by someone from the Temp.
