CFG USB Loader.exe and WBFS Manager can both still download full cover packs.

Just tell them where your games are and they'll download the files.

Is there any way to download the disc artwork for wii in high resolution? I used one of those programs listed, but all the artwork was very low resolution.

There are plans to update the disc art to be in higher quality. By the way edit access might not be given since the admin's busy. As a moderator of the website he isn't very caught up with my email

Yeah I was confused when I read that uploads should be something like a minimum of 1,000 pixels wide. So I was surprised when the downloaded artwork was very tiny lol.

The support for GameTDB is closed by the admin(s). Its not possible to add new entries or update artworks. I started a lot of requests months ago but nothing happens. Really bad support!

Has there been any updates regarding adding games and images? I'm trying to add two games, but can't create the pages.

October 9, 2024, I thank you for your hard work!
despite the absence of some game covers.

When uploading artwork, does the quality need to be very high? I have 3 disc images and one full cover made from my printer's scanner. The full cover has home scratches and white spots but I edited the most noticable ones out. And on the disc images, because the background is not entirely white, when rotating them, there is a noticable darker square that's rotated with it. Also one disc has a crack in the inner ring and the other one has scratches on the art.

Hi everyone, I've a question I would like to ask about using the data within GameTDB.

Basically, I/we want to use the data for a system called GameID, this is a protocol that lets a HDMI mod communicate with a scaler, for example, so the scaler knows what game the user is playing and can apply the users preferred scaling and post processing options. (more info here - https://docs.pixelfx.co/VSIF-metadata.html).

Now, the T&C says "Can I use the database/artwork in my software? • Yes"

But what we want to do is a little different from that, basically we want to convert the data into a format that can be used by the GameID system, effectively we want to take the database, strip it down to just a gameID number and short text description.

Is that an acceptable use of the service? Obviously we will add a credit to GameTDB for collecting the data originally.

I think it would be best if you spoke to Lustar.

if you plan to have the converted database as a file, I'd recommend convert to just the GameID on-the-fly / at runtime and use the database as-is.

It needs to be in a specific format to work with these small, embedded devices, anything more complex would use the database as it is, but we need a simple structure where a simple URL just returns a simple text string identifying the game, e.g here's a PS2 look up as that platform has already been done - https://firmware.pixelfx.co/gameid.php?pid=0x02&gameid=SLUS-20545

again I'm pretty sure this is within the scope of the whole project but we just want to be certain.

Both the site admin and I have got Switch 2, and we’re planning to launch a dedicated Switch 2 database as soon as possible.

I currently moderate GameTDB. The admin's been tied up over the past few years, which has slowed progress and affected motivation, but the project is still moving forward.

Most recently, I used a script to populate the database with simple cover images for all eShop games on the Switch, as well as for DSi and 3DS titles. We also reupload high-quality scanned Switch covers from a contributor named Julio. While he doesn’t plan to get a Switch 2 at the moment, he owns many games, though I don't think all have been scanned yet. Additionally, we’re consistently updating the database with Switch game IDs.

While community contributions have declined over the years and the Switch section still has gaps, there’s already a substantial amount of content available.

There are also plans to migrate the site to a new server—one is already being paid for. The admin hasn’t had a chance to make the move yet, but it’s currently a top priority
