Both the site admin and I have got Switch 2, and we’re planning to launch a dedicated Switch 2 database as soon as possible.

I currently moderate GameTDB. The admin's been tied up over the past few years, which has slowed progress and affected motivation, but the project is still moving forward.

Most recently, I used a script to populate the database with simple cover images for all eShop games on the Switch, as well as for DSi and 3DS titles. We also reupload high-quality scanned Switch covers from a contributor named Julio. While he doesn’t plan to get a Switch 2 at the moment, he owns many games, though I don't think all have been scanned yet. Additionally, we’re consistently updating the database with Switch game IDs.

While community contributions have declined over the years and the Switch section still has gaps, there’s already a substantial amount of content available.

There are also plans to migrate the site to a new server—one is already being paid for. The admin hasn’t had a chance to make the move yet, but it’s currently a top priority
Oh, what a pleasant surprise! Thank you so much for all the passion and dedication.
We all have lives, and it's totally understandable that there are periods of more or less activity.
It's great news to hear that a new and improved server will be available soon.

Just one question: will the Wii/GC covers also be moved?
I'm wondering if this change will affect the online download of covers in USB Loader GX and WiiFlow.

Thanks again.
Best regards to you, to Lustar, and to the whole team.

Is it possible to have the covers on a USB stick (where I have all the games) or do they have to be on the SD card (where I have homebrew installed) It would be much easier for me if I didnt have to eject the SD card every time I'm adding new games. I don't have an Internet connection for my Wii, it refuses to my find my router.

Hello,

You can transfer everything from your SD card to a USB drive (FAT32)

Then use your SD card for other things.

Then, configure your Homebrew Channel (HBC) to show that everything is on the USB port. To do this, go to the HBC, press 1 or 2 on your Wii Remote, and select USB.

Can I just copy + paste everything from the SD card to the USB, or will that mess things up?

Yes, copy and paste.

But USB drives aren't the best for the Wii (often resulting in a black screen); an external hard drive (FAT32) is preferable.

How safe is the external drive alternative? I have one external drive, but that is also my backup for my PC-stuff.

The admin of GameTDB is working on moving servers to one with much better specs. The current server has been in use since 2011 so it's finally time to upgrade. If you find anything weird going on with the database this is probably why

Hello.

I'm having the same issue with the white screen when trying to use the box maker. I've tried uploading PNG and JPEG files, selected Wii and GameCube, and tried using Firefox and Edge browsers.
Trying to make them for Wii and Gamecube (and wiiware for my fowarders). I went through the same steps @DocJammin did, just got a white screen.
it is fixed

Thanks again for all your hard work. I made about 4 covers and then GameTDB went offline. Hopefully I wasn't the one to bring the house down lol. And no rush to fix it today, I appreciate the site/tool even being available.
Don't worry about it, the server move is almost finished and there will be major changes with the site
